Finalmente ha sido "El discurso del Rey" la película triunfadora (película, director, actor protagonista y guión original), dejando a "La red social" con el consuelo del premio al guión original (además de otros 2 menores). Colin Firth, Natalie Portman y Christian Bale han conseguido el Oscar tras arrasar en la temporada de premios, y la categoría de actriz secundaria se ha saldado con la victoria de Melissa Leo. Las grandes perdedoras han sido "True Grit" y "127 Hours" que se han ido de vacío a pesar de contar con 10 y 6 nominaciones, respectivamente.
